hMSC Skincare Boost

WOW. That’s the best word to describe hMHC Skincare’s Boost moisturizer ($95 in the shop). This product is described on the hMHC website as “a lightweight moisturizer combining multiple targeted peptide technology with a plethora of antioxidants, minerals, polysaccharides, and amino acids”. It is definitely loaded with beneficial ingredients for the skin.

When I do a product review, I like to research all the ingredients to make sure there is no yucky stuff and this list was quite long.  That was one thing that caught my eye when I first received this. I tend to like to stick to products with a minimal ingredients list, but my research showed that each of the ingredients here delivers something beneficial.  Three words were prevalent: antioxidant, anti-Inflammatory, and moisturizing. When I hear antioxidant, I immediately think anti-aging and this product did not disappoint!  I also did not find any ingredients that were cause for concern, which is a plus!

I am in my early 40s and over the last few years have started to notice an increase in fine lines and dullness in my skin.  While using this for six weeks I noticed a brightening of my skin along with a decrease in lines around my eyes. My skin also felt amazing!

Another benefit several of the ingredients offered was anti-acne. The first ingredient listed is lactobacillus which is something you typically see on a probiotic supplement. It is in-fact a probiotic and through my research I found that, in skin care, probiotics defend the skin against bad bacteria which helps keep acne at bay. I have suffered from bouts of acne my whole life and as an adult who has adopted a vegetarian lifestyle to ward off acne still have flare ups once a month. While using Boost I did not break out once!

Boost goes on light and smooth. I used it over my regular serum, and it provides a nice canvas for makeup to be applied over. Overall it made my skin feel silky but not overly moisturized. It absorbed well.

My only complaint about Boost is the price. I can typically get past an expensive price tag because the product lasts several months but this only lasted six weeks. I used about a pump and a half (it is an airless pump) both in the morning and at night and that was enough to cover my face and neck. The directions said to use 2-3 pumps, but I found 2 to be too much so I can’t imagine using 3! And using more would mean it would run out much sooner. So, at $95 for 6 weeks this is a little pricey, but I did find it worth it and will likely be purchasing again!
